NEW YORK, NEW YORK – A female NYPD cop has filed a $30 million sexual harassment suit alleging her supervisor exposed himself to her while on duty and texted photos of his genitals.
Officer Shemalisca Vasquez alleges she was subjected to a barrage of perverse behavior by Lt. Ruben Caban of the Bronx Transit Task Force in 2010.
She says he flashed her in a room at the Elder Ave. station where they were supposed to be on the lookout for farebeaters, according to the complaint filed in Bronx Supreme Court.
“Put that thing away,” Vasquez fired back at him, the complaint states.
The cop’s allegations, first reported by the Daily News, were investigated by the Bronx district attorney’s office and the Internal Affairs Bureau, but no criminal charges were filed.
“She was subjected to a hostile work environment and looks forward to her day in court,” lawyer Eric Sanders said.
The suit alleges that Caban repeatedly asked the cop for sex in exchange for preferred assignments and signing her requests for days off.
One graphic photo sent to her phone included one of a woman performing oral sex on a man accompanied by the twisted message “Subway Eat Fresh,” the suit charges. Another photo purportedly of Caban holding his penis contained the text, “I hope you like! Was bored and thinking!”
“We will weigh the allegations carefully,” said a spokeswoman for the city Law Department.
